Designed informational graphics, business plans, media kits and poster advertising for a US-based litter/recycling bin advertising company.
Designed web sites, games and banners for an internet online gaming company. Integrated the company's look, colours and illustrations into all aspects of the the designs to maintain corporate branding.
Designed a web site for SFandF.com, a searchable database of science fiction books. As the site is database driven, worked with the programmer to design template pages that can contain a variable amount of data. Designed the flash navigation, banners and flash-based contests.
Designed a corporate identity for a microchip design and engineering firm. Provided logo, letterhead, web, catalogue, and poster design. The new look provides a unified presence and highlights the new emphasis the company has on what its products can do for consumers.

A publicly-owned Internet gaming company.
Designed the corporate identity of the company. The logo was designed to convey both the momentum of an internet-based company and the stability of a company with long-term goals for the success of it and its investors.
Designed and implemented the corporate website. The purpose of the site was to make accessible to investors the company's press releases, acquisitions and financial information in a timely and professional manner.
Designed the U.K. betting exchange site Betmart.com, and worked closely with the java developers to implement it. Created several 'skins' of the original betmart.com site design for new partners and sales leads. The challange involved conforming to the restrictions of the betting exchange software, while creating a unique and appealing web interface.
Hired a contract employee to maintain the betting sites and work with the java developers to implement graphical improvements to the original application.
ART DIRECTOR Internet Sports Network April 2000 to December 2000
Publicly-owned Internet gaming company. Internet Sports ceased operations in December of 2000.
Redesigned the Internet Sports Network corporate site to make information more available to potential investors and clients.
Introduced Flash as a solution for games requiring a more interactive feel. Designed prototypes which, when presented to clients, resulted in the sale of several flash games including three games for the 2000 Summer Olympics for NBCOlympics.com, Lycos.com and Enron (intranet).
Pioneered a more graphic look and feel for many of the existing fantasy sports games. This allowed Internet Sports Network to be more competitive and to retain it's important clients including NHL.com and CBSsportsline.com.
INTERFACE DESIGNER Symantec Corporation March 1999 to March 2000
Well known for their virus protection and pc utility software, Symantec ceased product design and development in their Toronto office in March of 2000.
Graphic lead for WinFax PRO. Designed icons, splash screens, install graphics and the installation interface for the product. In addition to the standard graphics for WinFax, I also created a multimedia overview of the product for new users designed to reduce tech support calls.
Graphic lead for TalkWorks PRO. Designed icons, splash screens, install graphics, a multimedia tour and other support graphics for the product. In addition to providing the graphics required, I was also responsible for ensuring that deadlines were met and graphics from other designers were delivered on time and in the required format.
Produced a variety of multimedia and interface designs, icons, splash screens, install wizards, tshirts and posters for products including ACT!, pcAnywhere and ProcommPLUS.
ART DIRECTOR Beamscope Canada 1996 to 1997
Publicly owned Canadian software distribution company with sales in excess of 300 million dollars.
Managed a permanent staff of 2, designing advertising and promotional materials for clients such as Toys R Us, Radio Shack and Future Shop. This resulted in higher sales and a lower rate of product returns.
Co-ordinated the production of programs for vendors such as Hewlett-Packard, IBM and Microsoft. These programs consisted of credit and program applications, print advertising, and give-aways such as mugs and t-shirts. My design increased the level of dealer participation.
Designed the Beamscope corporate website to reflect the dynamics of the company and encourage new investors.
OWNER There and Back Again 1988 to 1993
A science fiction and fantasy bookstore located in the heart of Southern Ontario.
Designed and produced a monthly newsletter highlighting science fiction, fantasy and mystery for our customers. This increased both traffic and sales.
Designed, printed and distributed a map of Stratford highlighting the twelve independently owned bookstores in the city. This made our bookstore easier to find and encouraged tourists to visit many of the other bookstores as well.
Created advertising, signage and flyers for special events and promotions that increased our sales.
